Historical Alcan B.C.’s 50th Anniversary
On the August long weekend, 2004, Alcan marked the 50th anniversary of its B.C. operations. Festivities included a re-enactment of the pouring of the first ingot, a reception for early employees, a fireworks spectacle, family events, and a wide range of entertainment and musical offerings. Some 5,000 people returned to Kitimat for the festivities.
