Our operations

In late 2007, Alcan Inc. and Rio Tinto Aluminium joined forces to create Rio Tinto Alcan, the aluminium industry’s new global leader responsible for two business units: Bauxite and Alumina and Primary Metal.  Our global headquarters is located in Montreal, Canada.  Rio Tinto Alcan Primary Metal BC Operation’s are one of 23 aluminum smelters within the Rio Tinto Alcan business unit.

Rio Tinto Alcan BC manages Community offices located in Kitimat, Burns Lake, Vancouver and Vanderhoof, British Columbia.
