Rio Tinto Alcan Primary Metal BC Operations is a major presence in British Columbia and has been for over half a century.  We operate one of the largest aluminum manufacturing complexes in the province contributing more than $250 million to the economy of B.C.

Our aluminum smelter is located alongside a deep-water port immediately south of the community of Kitimat.  Our annual rated production capacity of 282,000 tonnes consists of value-added primary aluminum products that are shipped primarily to Pacific Rim markets.
